ABOUT OKO KNIFES
Thank-you for your interest in Oko Knives!! Oko is short for Okotoks Alberta where I have lived on an acreage with my wife Marlene and family since 2000.
I first became interested in the outdoors at quite a young age (9). I made my first bow around that time. Since then much of my time has been spent doing archery and bow hunting, camping, hiking, fishing, trapping, and exploring southern Alberta and, much of British Columbia.
In my 20's I worked as a butcher and meat cutter, and hunting guide. All of this usually ended up with a knife in my hand and led to my obsession with knives. I was making knives razor sharp long before I made my first knife.
In April of 2014, it occurred to me that I could make a knife. With a bit of luck and research and I was able to purchase the equipment I needed. No one saw what was to happen next. I made 180 knives in my spare time over a 33 month period.
Thank you, Marlene, for your patience and understanding!!!
